Explore the hidden realms of the Eastern PNG coastline with Aurora Expeditions

Aurora Expeditions is offering travellers the opportunity to experience the rich cultural, heritage and unspoilt beauty of Papua New Guinea with two new voyages departing in November 2010.

Departing from Cairns or Rabaul, these new expedition cruises explore some of the least visited regions of the Eastern PNG Coastline, including two nights on the mighty Sepik River, the Trobriand Islands and the Bismarck Archipelago.

As with all Aurora voyages, emphasis is placed on a combination of interactive experiences with the environment and a fascinating educational element. Assisted by a team of expert naturalists, anthropologists and historians, these expeditions aim to provide authentic experiences with the local people and give a genuine insight into their traditional lifestyle.

Prices for the 11-day cruises start from $8650 per person for a stateroom (twin-share), including all meals on board, shore excursions and lectures.

For further information contact Aurora Expeditions on 1800 637 688 (toll free) or visit www.auroraexpeditions.com.au

Guests will visit an amazing variety of environments from magnificent jungle scenery to dramatic volcanoes, exploring coral atolls and remote villages where ancient traditions flourish. The voyage will sail through the imposing Tufi fjords, past the spectacular Milne Bay and visit the Dei Dei Hot Springs whose landowner shares mythical and spiritual tales of the land.

Accommodation is on board the 72-passenger luxury expedition ship, Oceanic Discoverer enabling access to sites beyond the reach of larger vessels. Shore excursions are arranged on a purpose-built excursion vessel, the 'Explorer', Zodiacs and a glass bottom coral viewing boat.

As in previous years Aurora Expeditions will once again co-ordinate the donation of school books to remote island communities.
