Our Spirit's adventure walk is the ultimate Kokoda Track trekking experience.   Guided by experienced Australian leaders and paramedics with comprehensive local knowledge and customs and an unwavering passion for the Kokoda Track history, hidden battle sites, treasures and most importantly its legacy.   You are given the opportunity to experience the highs and lows of the treacherous Kokoda Track with a sense of courage, endurance and mateship without the ultimate sacrifice that our digger's made before us. Participants as young as 14 years and as old as 81 years have successfully completed the Kokoda Track with Our Spirit.  We strongly believe, pre-trek Kokoda Track preparation is the key to our success.  For this reason, participants commence their Kokoda bushwalking adventure with Our Spirit up to 3 months prior to departure with a comprehensive pre-trek training program.

Our Spirit Trekking - Black Cat Trail / Skindaiwai

Our Spirit Trekking

Black Cat Trail / Skindaiwai
from only $3495pp* (discounts apply for group numbers)

The Black Cat Trail runs between Salamaua and Wau in the Morobe Province. It is a forgotten World War 2 trail that passes through some of the toughest and most hazardous terrain in the world.  Australian Diggers have often been heard describing the Black Cat Trail as the hardest slog they’d ever done. In fact the Black Cat Trail rates harder than the Kokoda Track.  It includes dangerous river crossings, swamps, cliffs, trees that are fallen, moss covered rocks and dangerous ledges. This makes the Black Cat Trail one of the toughest tracks in PNG and in the world.

Today the trail is peaceful, tranquil and much less travelled, but the locals are still as hospitable and supportive as they were in 1942. This makes for a genuine cultural experience.  But note, the Black Cat Trail is recommended only for very fit and experienced trekkers.

Inclusions:
  • Online exercise and nutrition training program - individualised and specific to the Black Cat Trail designed and monitored by our team of qualified exercise physiologists
  • Equipment advice and training support
  • Group training weekends are scheduled at the beginning of the trekking season - select training weekends from the adventure menu or follow this link to view current price and availability
  • Limited group size (maximum 20 participants)
