This is a new operation in whats the virgin territory of Kavieng New Ireland. One of the last unexplored game fishing areas in the world where the Bismark sea meets the Pacific ocean. A myriad of islands and reefs, the movement between these mighty seas creates the warm currents and up swellings that wash this area between Kavieng town and New Hanover. A thousand islands with their clear water mangroves and underwater coral  valleys, a nursey of food flushed regularly for the pelagics that roam the deeper channells. To the south west is a series of underwater canyons where the depth drops to a thousand metres plus and the big fish roam. How big ....... well no one knows yet. Kavieng is a  small friendly Somerset Maughan style pacific islands town, a club where guest memebership can be arranged and two onshore watering holes, the Kavieng hotel and the Malagan lodge. Also the renowned Kavieng tree house. Offshore within 15 minutes by water is Lissenung dive resort and Nusa islands resort. Closer to our fishing area amongst the Tsoi islands we have Mansava lodge. Daily jet services with Air Niugini connect Kavieng to the international gateway, Port Moresby. If its night life your looking for you’ve come to the wrong place. Makaira is a purpose built gamefisher twin shaft driven Volvo turbos 42 ft long with all the electronics including  plotter, sounder, satellite phone. Suitable for live aboard (share in 3 adjoining areas in 4 separate bunks) or day trips for up to six. She is air-conditioned with her own generator set and ample refrigeration. We recommend 4 people 5 nights 4 full days fishing two shore based two nights live aboard. She has a large open back deck with state of the art game chair outriggers and marlin door equipped for medium and light game fishing and deep water jigging. Bring your own gear or use ours on a what you lose, what you pay basis. We can also offer casting with poppers or close in trolling amongst the many exposed and sunken reefs in gin clear protected waters from two purpose built runabouts with platforms or amongst the gin clear water amongst the mangroves in our tinnie for some tackle crashing action. Moreover, roam offshore in Makaira for the big game action. We promote catch and release but its your choice.
