PNG Forests grow at least 3,000 different kinds of orchids, more than any other country.
When scientists collected fishes in the streams and rivers of the Kikori Basin, they found that out of all the river drainage system in the entire New Guinea, the Kikori Basin river system had more kinds of fish found no place else in the World.
The World's largest Butterfly is the Queen Alexandra's Birdwing (female) and the second largest is the Goliath Birdwing Butterfly.
The Hercules Moth is the largest Moth in the World and it lives in many parts of PNG.
