Papua New Guinea is indeed the land of adventure. It is a land of natural wilderness, breathtaking landscapes, lost cultures, mystery, tropical jungles high mountains and fascinating flora and fauna. The waters surrounding P.N.G. are exotic and still vastly unexplored. The thousands of coral atolls with crystal clear blue waters abound in a myriad of spectacular marine life and hundreds of wrecks. P.N.G. without a doubt offers some of the most fascinating underwater experiences.
Considering the vast areas of mountainous terrain, where the only way to get
from village to village is to fly or walk, it's surprising that
bushwalking in PNG has not caught on the same way trekking has in
the Himalayas. The best-known walking trail is the Kokoda Trail,
but there are literally hundreds of other options because the entire
country is criss-crossed by tracks. The most interesting choices
are arguably Lake Kopiago to Oksapmin, Mt Wilhelm to Madang and
Wedau to Alotau. |

A couple hundred people canoe down the
Sepik each year, but you have to be fit, independent and well-equipped
to tackle it. Foreign tour operators offer fabulous rafting down
PNG's turbulent mountain rivers, but there are also some regular
local operators yet. There is so much adventure in Papua New Guinea to experience so if you are a person who likes to try new things, come and see it yourself.
One of the good examples for an adventure would be to try the canoeing of Duke of York Islands in the East New Britain Province. Taklam Tours have a 7 day homestay program in New Ireland and canoeing the Duke of York Islands.contact Taklam Tours for more infomation on email: taklamtours@daltron.com.pg For other adventure and exciting tours in Papua New Guinea, click here to find out about the different tour services provided by tour operators in the country or contact the PNG Tourism Office on Ph : (675) 3200211 or Email: info@pngtourism.org.pg
